File' Root Beer (#1 of 6)
Featuring a Blue Crab and a Sassafras plant, this design makes the connection between Filé root beer and Filé gumbo. Seafood gumbo with Blue Crab is a traditional South Louisiana dish—and Nora’s favorite one at that!
Jean Lafitte Ginger Ale (#2 of 6)
A walk through Jean Lafitte Barataria Preserve inspired the use of colorful Louisiana Iris, the Louisiana State Wildflower, for this illustration. The cucumber vine was a staple in Nora’s mom’s vegetable garden growing up and she would often find Green Tree Frogs hiding in the leaves while picking fresh cucumbers.
Noble Cane Cola (#3 of 6)
The little Green Heron’s greenish-blue colors inspired this illustration. This unique heron is a solitary bird that stands out from the rest, much like the fig flavors in the Noble Cane Cola.
Ponchatoula Pop Rouge (#4 of 6)
The Roseate Spoonbill is Nora’s favorite bird found in the Louisiana wetlands. Its perfectly pink color is easily spotted through the cypress trees in the swamp during breeding season in spring and summer, which also happens to be strawberry season in Louisiana.
Praline Cream Soda (#5 of 6)
A Louisiana State Black Bear stands on a bed of pecans, set in a forest full of Palmettos – the leaves used to fan fresh pralines as they were sold in the French Quarter in the early 19th century.
Satsuma Fizz (#6 of 6)
The vibrant Purple Gallinule uses its large yellow-orange feet to walk lightly on top of lily pads in the southern Louisiana wetlands. The bright and colorful birds are the perfect complement to the bright yellow-orange satsumas.
